This page contains links to the regulations setting speed limits on some Massachusetts roads. In general, no speed limit may be posted unless there is a ``special speed regulation'' establishing a speed limit. (The exceptions are school zones and speed limits established by state agencies other than the highway department.)
Some of these links lead to scans of Special Speed Regulations (see G.L. 90-18). Most of these scans are in TIFF format. Other links lead to city ordinances. It is not legally required that a speed limit be in the city ordinance book, but some cities codify speed limits in their ordinances for convenience.
