In accordance with the provisions of Section 18 of Chapter 90
of the General Laws (Ter. Ed.) the following Special Speed Regulation
is hereby promulgated.

Special Speed Regulations numbered 343, 343-A, 343-B, 343-D,
343-E, 343-F, 343-H, 343-I, and 343-J dated May 29, 1967, January 22,
1970, May 20, 1970, October 31, 1972, May 21, 1976, May 25, 1976,
November 10, 1976, March 2, 1977 and June 13, 1977 respectively
are hereby amended by striking out the Regulations in their entireties
and inserting in place thereof the following revisions:

The following designated speed limits are established at which
motor vehicles may be operated in the areas described:

WESTBOUND

Beginning in Russell at the Westfield City Line

Operation of a motor vehicle at a rate of speed in excess of
these limits shall be prima facie evidence that such speed is greater
than is reasonable and proper.


The provisions of this regulation shall not, however, abrogate
in any sense, Section 14 of Chapter 90.

The Department of Public Works and the Registrar of Motor
Vehicles, acting jointly do hereby certify in writing, that this
regulation is consistent with the public interest.

Standard signs must be erected at the beginning of each zone.
