About Step Charts


Step charts show each data point as a step in a series of stairsteps. Like area charts, they show data accumulation, only they illustrate changes between data points as distinct stair steps rather than as continuous points.

Step charts are one of the chart types available on combination charts.

Special Notes About Step Charts

Selecting data points. You can't select individual data points in step charts; you may only select the whole area or "staircase."

Hidden data points. Depending on the chart's data, it's possible to inadvertently hide some or all of the data points of one series behind another series. You can fix this problem in several ways:
