Elemental Dragon Roost

Requires: 2 master sets, 2 lava sets, 1 ice set, 1 castle set, 2 road sets

3 or 6 players. 200 point armies. 8 rounds. Setup on gray regions just behind the dragons. For 3 players, each player controls two forces of 200 each.

Special Rules: When rolling for initiative, whoever rolls highest goes first. Then play proceeds clockwise around the table. Players know which setup zone they will have before they choose their armies or begin drafting.

During the normal player round, the 6 dragons will deal disengage damage to troops of any player. At the end of each round, determine who currently controls each dragon. If a model is on top of one of the spiral columns, then he controls the dragon corresponding to that column -- the one who setup just behind that column. If a model is on the center of the tower in the middle of the board, he controls all dragons who are not otherwise controlled. After determining control, each player takes a turn with his dragons, in initiative order. A player retains control of his dragons even if his figure in its column is eliminated by a dragon moving earlier in the round. After all the dragons have moved, start a new player round, followed by another dragon round.

Dragons will always make disengage attacks, even against models of players who control the dragon and against other dragons controlled by the same player. All dragons are immune to lava and snow restrictions. Players cannot buy dragons. If the turn counter runs out and the game ends, do a final check to see who controls each dragon. Controlled dragons count towards your score, and controlled dead dragons count half.

Be sure to be using my house rules for mimring and my custom rules for the Shadow Dragon.

The 6 Dragons:

Details:

Theory: It's all about the dragons. Each dragon is worth about as much as your entire army, so controlling them is essential. The center of the board is very valuable, so every army should contain units capable of getting there. Note that 3 of the 6 dragons do not have range attacks and thus cannot dislodge units from the spiral pillars, but any dragon can attack the center of the board. The dragons are setup so that every other one is ranged. All of the Kyrie, apart from Taellos, are strong in the scenario.
