Description : This big toad was right on the path, and was disturbed by our presence. First he tried scrambling up the steep part of the rock to the left, then slipped and flipped over backwards, before righting himself and heading to the right (by which time I had my camera out). I was surprised by his large size (about 4" from nose to the end of his spine), the very pale cream color of his belly and by how slow and clumsy he was.

In hindsight, it was a little foolish to get out my camera in the drenching rain, and I didn't do so again, although I really wanted some pictures of the wildflowers. I resealed it back in the ziplock bag, and it was safe and dry when I got home.
