Now let’s think about leaving the Earth. How can a rocket get off the Earth’s surface?
Basically, as long as the rocket is pushing off the ground more than gravity is pulling it back down, it will be able to take off. (This same logic can also be applied to an airplane taking off - however, because the airplane stays within the Earth’s atmosphere it doesn’t need as much of a push.)
