Beth's Hobbies
Singing
I love to sing. Ask any of my friends and they'll groan
and be too glad to tell you how often. I do it in front of an audience as
often as I can, too. I'm a member of the
Copley Cats, an all
female a cappella group, and I find other ways to be a ham. I've performed at
concerts for the library staff at MIT and sometimes I sing in musical theatre
(see below).
Rock Climbing
A relatively new pursuit of mine, but an awfully fun one.
Cards and Games
I blame this passion on my family. We play games all the time.
Bridge, 13, Phase 10, Dominoes, Scrabble, you name it. I'm now getting into
poker, specifically Texas Hold 'em, and Anne got me addicted to Skip-Bo.
Theatre
I tried to give it up, really I did, but it's just plain too much
fun. I have managed to cut back my intensity a bit and not get too carried
away. Mostly I'm working with
MTG, but I
also did a MIT workshop production of Once on This
Island.
Sewing
After my years as a costume designer I've picked up the skills
and tools to make anything. I'm in the process of reconstructing a
delapidated dressform. (I know I've been saying this for like 4 years now....)
My Dad instilled in me a passion for the Mets. I'm progressing
well on my goal of attending all regular season games the Mets play at Fenway.
Unfortunately, the recent schedule changes meant they didn't grace our
fair city yet again this year, but I did get to go to a game at Shea last
season that went into extra innings! More ball for your buck :)
