Yggdrasil the ash tree
With her branches in the heavens and her roots in the underworld, the ash tree Yggdrasil holds all opposites in her embrace. Both sacred and mortal, the tree is in need of the same compassion and protection she offers. A spider monkey is constantly scurrying up her trunk, bringing news, and roosters nest in her upper canopy like sentries. When Melia was born from a drop of her sap, those roosters crowed in joy and in fright at the flowers and flames. With limbs like Yggdrasil's, who could let go of these worlds upon worlds?

With its branches in the heavens and its roots in the underworld, the ash tree Yggdrasil holds all in its embrace. Both sacred and mortal, the tree is in need of the same compassion and protection [she] offers. A squirrel is constantly scurrying up its trunk, bringing news, and roosters nest in [her] upper canopy like sentries. With limbs like those, who could let go of the world?

Ash tree - Melia is the ash tree nymph
Melia's father - i guess she was born from a drop of blood that fell onto the earth - blood is sap
Or, tree under which Melia was born - where her father shed a drop of blood
Holds all opposites in its embrace
Slithering snakes root me steadfastly
Verdant boughs transform sky to nourishment for beings on lower planes

Like a spider monkey, the Earth lives its life in the canopy. It's trees all the way down

A spider monkey is constantly scurrying up her trunk, bringing news, and roosters nest in her upper canopy like sentries. When Melia was born under her shade, those roosters crowed in joy and in fright at this new marvel of opposites. With limbs like hers, who could let go of these worlds upon worlds?
