- Organizing a weekly talk series on exoplanet related science topics at MIT
- In charge of inviting speakers, setting up their visit schedule and advertising the series
Graduate Admissions Committee – UCSC Astronomy & Astrophysics Department (Winter 2015)
- Elected by the UCSC astronomy and astrophysics faculty to sit on the department’s graduate admissions committee (1 of 5 members, the other 4 being faculty members)
- Led interviews with top 30 applications over Skype
- Helped select final set of admitted students and decide which ones were nominated for fellowships/grants
Head Teaching Assistant / Instructor AY205 (2012-2016)
- Creator and instructor of the Astronomy Department’s core curriculum “Introduction to Teaching” course which introduces new graduate students to education research, teaching pedagogy and allows practice/ development of teaching skills
- Designed and managed the astronomy department’s TA support program
UCSC Science Instructor (2010-2014)
- Developed and taught a quantitative astronomy course for undergraduate non-science majors at UCSC
- Teaching assistant for four classes, designed sections and filled in as the primary lecturer when necessary
