Descendants of Sir John Turing and Henry Turing

Sources differ regarding the early history of this family. According to Debrett's Peerage[ref. 11]
"The family of Turing, originally French, settled in the barony of Tourin, in Forfarshire, which they held for several generations. Sir William TURYN attached himself to the fortunes of King David II., and shared that monarch's exile; his loyalty was however subsequently rewarded by a grant of the barony of Foveran, in Aberdeenshire, which his descendants held more than 300 years."
According to Burke's Peerage[ref. 12]
"William DE TURIN (possibly a kinsman of Adam TURIN, concerned in matters relating to the park of Fyvie 1323) had a charter of Foveran, Aberdeenshire, from David II on its recognition from Henry DE STEABROKE, and was s. by
Andrew TURIN of Foveran, probably his son, 1388-1424, whose general successor
John TURIN of Foveran, who had a charter of Foveran in 1441, and by Janet HAY, his wife, had a son and successor,
William TURIN of Foveran, who was presumably the father of
John TURIN of Foveran who s. before 1482 and d. before 1503, leaving by his wife Catherine VAUX, a son and successor,
William TURIN of Foveran, served heir to his father 13 Oct. 1503, living 1508. He was s. by his son,
Gilbert TURIN, m. before 1505, Helen CHEYNE, and ca. 29 March, 1527 conveyed the estate to his son and successor,
William TURIN of Foveran, d. before 9 Feb. 1555-6, and was s. by his son,
Robert TURIN of Foveran, m. before 31 May, 1556, Helen CARNEGIE, and d. before 1580, when he was s. by his son,
Sir William TURING of Foveran, d. before 1613, leaving, with other issue,
1. John (Sir), 1st Bt.
2. Henry . . ."
According to The Lay of the Turings, the family's early line of descent was as follows: [ref. 8]
