Left half the stock of his farm to his wife Sarah. Left the tenement with the backside and stable and barn adjoining the long meadow to his son Andrew during his life, then to his granddaughter Mary GRONSILL during her life. Left £5 to his daughter Mary GRONSELL; his coat and breeches to Mary's husband William; £5 each to their sons William, Richard, and Andrew; £4 to their daughter Sarah; and 20 shillings to their daughter Mary. Left a long list of household furnishings to his son Andrew. Left his wife the leases of the farm dwelling and the mill, on condition that his son Andrew and son in law John BIGWOOD should have use of the mill and associated lands, etc., for a rent of £20 per year. Left £30 to her half-brother John HARRIS, exciseman, residing in or near London; £30 to her half-brother Thomas HARRIS of London, builder; £30 to her half-sister Elizabeth WREFORD of Kingsbridge, Devon, widow; £30 to her half-sister Joanna MUTTON, wife of Joseph MUTTON of Teignmouth, Devon, gentleman; £20 and some clothes to her cousin Mary LAMBSHEAD, wife of George LAMBSHEAD of Bovey Tracey, Devon, mariner; and £20 each to Edward EARDLEY of Exeter, china and earthen ware dealer, and John WEEKS of Bovey Tracey, yeoman. Appointed Edward EARDLEY and John WEEKS as her executors and trustees. Left the residue of her estate in trust for the benefit of John SERCOMBE, son of William SERCOMBE, deceased, late grocer of Exeter and nephew of Mary's late husband Jacob SERCOMBE, and for the benefit of John's children, if any, should he die before receiving the principal at the age of 24. If John died childless before age 24, left the principal in equal shares to John HARRIS, Thomas HARRIS, Elizabeth WREFORD, Joanna MUTTON, and Mary LAMBSHEAD. Witnessed by John D. OSBORN and Thos. A. Appointed as executors and trustees: her son William SERCOMBE, gentleman, of the Out-tellers Office of the Bank of England, and Drewry OTTLEY, surgeon, of Bedford Place, Russell Square, Middlesex. Left her savings from her life income, including £200 of consolidated bank annuities at 3% interest, in trust for the maintenance and benefit of her daughter Ann SERCOMBE, "having regard for her unfortunate condition." Left all his possessions in trust for the benefit of his children, the remainder to be divided equally among them when they have all turned 21 and his wife is dead. Also left to Rebecca half her household furniture.
