Sophia examined samples of both glitter & white. Both have nanites, some nanites are common to both, some are different. For the ones that are different, the ones in glitter are more complex. It seems likely that they either have a common source (a good guess would be "black") or one is a refinement of the other. Glitter is much, much expensive as white.
Green goo seems to have cleared White nanites out of a cell culture, but it isn't really possible to extrapolate anything meaningful about a person from that
Addiction to glitter has a physical component and a strong psychological component. Once you've used it and felt how big it makes you, you always feel small afterwards. One thing that will help lessen that pull is to get through crises without it. The general rule of thumb on breaking an addiction like this would be at least twice as long without using glitter or psi as the addict was on glitter.
Sophia's physical examination turned up some neurological effects. Some of the pathways had been stretched out of shape, as if too much stuff had been forced through them. I'm [Ace] guessing that this physical effect produces some of the insecure feelings associated with Glitter withdrawl.
Sophia did another physical exam of Kayta to see if the events [being in the tube, not using glitter] on Nonesuch and Vircus had any effects. There were no noticable neurological changes between the last time Sophia checked Katya and this time.
Ruehan also examined Katya and found there was no easy way for her to break her addition. By the timehe examined her it was more psychological than physical (which in no way makes it less of an addiction). It will mostly take time and effort to resist using the drug. If there was some way to temporarily raise her Will (strength of mind), such as psychically, that would help.
Kith learned the "nudge the body back towards its natural state" talent from Grandmother Arabelle after the battle for Sparta. This seems likely to help with regular/long term application. Kith may also be able to raise Katya's will as Ruehan suggested.
