Red Cross blood drives: donate and volunteer!

The next MIT blood drive will be held from November 17th - November 21st in La Sala, located on the second floor of the MIT Student Center. The dates and times for the blood drive are as follows:

Monday, November 17: 12pm-6pm
Tuesday, November 18: 8am-2pm
Wednesday, November 19: 12pm-6pm
Thursday, November 20: 12pm-6pm
Friday, November 21: 12pm-6pm

All donors will receive a free blood drive t-shirt and an opportunity to enter a raffle for free Red Sox tickets.

Food Pantry Dates selected!

Dates for this fall's food pantry trips have been announced. Visit the food pantry page for more information.

The next food pantry trip will be Saturday, November 15th from 7:30 AM - 12:15 PM.

Come to MIT ARCTAN's American Red Cross First Aid class!

What: American Red Cross First Aid class
When: Friday, November 14, 5pm-8:30pm
Where: 50-360 (Walker)
How: email arctanmit@gmail.com to sign up!
Cost: only $20! (to cover the cost of materials and certification cards)

Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries.

All successful participants will receive American Red Cross First Aid certification cards.

China Earthquake Relief Efforts

As part of the global network of the Red Cross, ARCTAN is working to raise awareness of the fallout of China's earthquake and to support the recovery efforts. You can visit the Red Cross's dedicated page here to learn more about the disaster and how you can help with relief.

Myanmar Cyclone Relief Efforts

ARCTAN is also working to support the recovery efforts in Myanmar in response to the cyclone there. You can visit the Red Cross's dedicated page here to learn more about the disaster and how you can help with relief.



For those interested in becoming more involved by directly helping with local and even national disasters, ARCTAN's Disaster Action Team is open to any member of the MIT Community; all necessary training is provided for free.

Welcome to the American Red Cross Team And Network (ARCTAN) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We are a college club of the Massachusetts Bay chapter of the American Red Cross.

We offer volunteer opportunities in all of the functions of the American Red Cross. We specialize in Blood Services, Disaster Relief, Health and Safety, Food Pantry, and Youth Outreach.
