Hany Khafre's Journal: September 10, Cairo, Egypt

1:05pm

Sarah really pisses me off sometimes. I was supposed to be measuring Mycerinus today and doing some prep work for the visits to the quarries, but Sarah asked me to come into Cairo for the day to come to part of the conference.

So, I came into Cairo, like she asked. Thesis advisors can be such a fucking pain. So, to make things worse, I showed up at the hotel and the brain dead lowlife they had at the entrance to the conference hall wouldn't let me in because he said my name wasn't on the list. Finally, I had someone find Sarah and it got straightened out.

I figured Sarah must have had something really interesting that I would be more than happy to have been taken away from field work to see. She knows how much I love sitting around in hotel conference rooms bullshitting about how stupid the ancient Egyptians were. Instead, Sarah tells me that we're attending a panel that Everett is heading up. I told her off right there and started to leave but last time I did that it wasn't my best choice so I turned around and asked her why the hell she thought we were going to this. Sarah has repeatedly discouraged me from provoking Everett at all, which means for the most part I don't come within visual range of the asswipe.
