Hany Khafre's Journal: September 6, en route to Cairo, Egypt

2:45pm

I'm flying in to Cairo today. My thesis advisor, Dr. Sarah Mercer, is speaking at a conference on 4th dynasty construction and I will be going to Giza to do some on site research for my thesis. Dr. Everett is also coming with us, but fortunately he has nothing to do with my work. Dr. Everett is a total prick. I am glad I have a good reason not to attend the conference.

Fortunately, Sarah keeps Dr. Everett away from my work. He and Sarah have this interesting relationship. He thinks she's nuts, which she might be, but he says really dumb things like "Just like a woman to think that". Sarah lets him continue with his comment and as a result he looks like a dickhead to the rest of the faculty, and people are in general less likely to call Sarah crazy, lest they seem to be siding with Everett.
