    A few useful starting-points if anyone's interested in following up on
    Henry's comments about Australian aboriginal media at this afternoon's
    class on orality and literacy:

    Eric Michaels, _Bad Aboriginal Art: Tradition, Media, and Technological
    Horizons_. Minneapolis: U of Minnesota Press, 1994.

    Faye Ginsburg, "Indigenous Media: Faustian Contract or Global Village?" In
    George E. Marcus, ed., _Re-Reading Cultural Anthropology_. Durham and
    London: Duke U Press, 1992: 356-75.

    It would be interesting to find out if any of the Australian aboriginal TV
    stations have web sites yet--if anyone comes across any, or any sites by
    Australian or other aboriginal societies, post the URLs on the bbs.

    Martin Roberts
