The web site I would like to share with the class is:
Someone sent me this URL via e-mail along with the
message, "in case you're interested." When I scanned
the site, I was immediately fascinated, for it is the
web page of "America Habla," a news program in Spanish
of international coverage produced in the United States.
The main menu provides access to many other sites
pertaining to Latin America. One such site is "El
Kiosko Multimedia," which contains current issues
of over 210 Latin American periodicals. There is also
access to "Argentina Show," the first Spanish-speaking
program to be transmitted via internet from the US.
This site impressed me so much because I know from
personal experience how difficult it is to find current
newspapers from Latin America here in Boston. Most of
the Hispanic television and radio stations are geared
to a very specific audience and the coverage is
very limited. The incredible selection of news events
and their easy access offered by "America Habla" brings
closer together Latin American current affairs and
Latin Americans in the US.
