This is the official homepage of a band called Psykosonik, maintained by
Paul Sebastien, one of the band's members. What makes this page
particularly interesting is this: while most bands reach out to their
audience through their music, on CD, or in magazine articles, television
appearances, etc., Psykosonik is able to express themselves in a manner
not traditionally associated with most bands. For instance, recently I
recieved an e-mail from Psykosonik notifying me that a new "interactive
world" was now up of their web page for downloading. On the webpage are
various band-related pages of artwork, song samples, several of the
aforementioned "interactive worlds", video clips, articles, audio
interviews, and much more. What makes this page interesting is that it is
a way for this band to express themselves in a multitude of very distinct
styles, which is something that is generally not possible with
traditional audio CDs. The fact that the web page is maintained by one of
the band members, and not some hired third party is interesting, as well.
The effect is very different, as the continuity of the body of work
that's presented is very good, and the "feel" from the web page to the
music to the various artwork is uniform, and not discontinuous like many
'third-party' web pages.
