Emailing Lists

The LCM uses its moderated mailing lists to promote the peer exchange of Lebanon-related editorial content, local event programming, and relevant community requests between its readership in an attempt to facilitate better, faster, and easier exposure to matters of relevance to Lebanon and the LCM community.

	lebanon-articles[at]mit[dot]edu is used to share articles and posts related to Lebanon with LCM community [on moderation guidelines for this list]. The subscriber base of this list is dispersed throughout the world and not limited to greater Boston. 	lebanon-discussions[at]mit[dot]edu is used to exchange subscriber opinions and general discussions on Lebanon-related affairs. Subscriber comments/debates/discussions related to posts made on other lists should be directed to this list, or they may risk being automatically redirected or discarded by the moderator. 	lebanon-exec[at]mit[dot]edu reaches the officers of the Lebanese Club @ MIT. It is a locked list. Use this list if you need to get in touch with the officers or you have any questions about the club.
	lebanon-members[at]mit[dot]edu reaches the members of the Lebanese Club @ MIT. It is a locked list to which only club members are automatically subscribed (on how to join the LCM). Any email posted to this list by the public is screened by the list moderators.
	lebanon-friends[at]mit[dot]edu is used by the LCM Government & Membership to reach its friends of the LCM for private events, special promotions, and key announcements. It is a locked list to which only friends of the LCM are automatically subscribed (on how/why to become a friend of the LCM). Any email posted to this list by the public is screened by the list moderators.

The lists are moderated and only list members can directly post emails to the lists they're subscribed to. Their emails would instantaneously and uninterruptedly reach other list subscribers, assuming their posting track record has not necessitated otherwise (community events guidelines | article posts guidelines). All other emails are screened by the appointed list moderators, who could reject, discard, or allow emails to pass to the list. This is a measure recently taken by the club to filter spam and keep information reaching subscribers as relevant as possible. We encourage anyone interested in receiving/posting emails frequently to the list to register so that their emails do not incur any moderation delay.

All emails posted to the lists are archived for future reference; the archives are accessible through the administrative interface of your subscription account(s) - see link below.

The archives of lebanon-members and lebanon-owner are only accessible to respective list members upon login. Search engines will not be able to crawl/index their contents. On the other hand, archives of lebanon-events and lebanon-articles are accessible to the public and can be indexed by search engines.
