Answer: π
The puzzle is easiest if you notice the first letters of the authors at the bottom spell out a long message: βThe sixteen authorsβ books each clue an emoji pair. Go very close to and use zappar app at each location plaque. Collect pixel figures from the newly clued authors.β
Starting at the top you need to pair the emojis as follows:
Author | Emojis | Book | Location |
---|---|---|---|
Pierre Boulle | π½π¦ | Planet of the Apes | 66-163 |
Ray Bradbury | ππ₯ | Fahrenheit 451 | 8-319T |
Eric Carle | ππ | The Very Hungry Caterpillar | 3-107 |
Roald Dahl | π«π | Charlie and the Chocolate Factory | 7-333Z |
William Goldman | πΈπ° | The Princess Bride | 4-217 |
Nathaniel Hawthorne | π΄π | The Scarlet Letter | 9-425 |
Yann Martel | πΆπ | Life of Pi | 37-320 |
Herman Melville | β¬π | Moby-Dick | 66-350 |
Robert C. O'Brien | ππ©βπ¬ | Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH | 7-121 |
Beatrix Potter | ππ₯ | The Tale of Peter Rabbit | 3-301 |
J. K. Rowling | π§β‘ | Harry Potter | 8-139 |
John Steinbeck | ππ‘ | The Grapes of Wrath | 32-199E |

J. R. R. Tolkien | βπ | The Return of the King | 33-404 |
E. B. White | ππΈοΈ | Charlotte's Web | 56-114 |
You'll then need to download the Zappar AR application and scan the Zappar app icon for this puzzle:
At each of the locations, search for each author on loan there: zoom in on the room number plaque via the Zappar app. Looking around in Zappar, you'll find the following emoji which clue a book by another author. Selecting that author in the puzzle page produces a pixel map. Each emoji sequence appears in a virtual location in Zappar (indicated in parentheses in the table below). Collate all the pixel images according to these grid locations.
