Magnetic Poetry
Puzzle by Joe Cabrera
This is actually a Pokémon puzzle, with the clippings surrounding the word magnets acting as flavor text. Starting at lower right and going clockwise are the names of American game releases in the series: Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, Pokémon Gold & Silver, Pokémon Emerald, Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire; Pokémon Crystal; Pokémon Ranger; Pokémon Colloseum; Pokémon Red & Blue. The fisherman image shows a Pokéball as a fishing bob over the word “catch” (“Gotta Catch ’Em All!”). The jewelry ad also refers to a collection of 493, the current number of official Pokémon.
The word magnets are the left and right ends of names of Pokémon after an interior letter was removed. Ordering the names in Pokémon National Index Number order (1-493) gives:
