Omer Tanovic

I am a PhD candidate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department and the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS), advised by Prof. Alexandre Megretski. I received my M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Automatic Control and Electronics Division) from the University of Sarajevo. Prior to coming to MIT, I worked for 4 years as a teaching and research assistant (full-time position) in the EECS Department at University of Sarajevo. I also worked as an instrumentation and automation engineer (part-time position) at Bosna-S Oil Services Company, Bosnia-Herzegovina. During my graduate studies at MIT, I completed internships at Schlumberger-Doll Research (SDR), Cambridge, MA, Shell Global Solutions (US), Inc., Houston, TX, and Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) (twice), Cambridge, MA. My research interests lie broadly on the intersection of systems/control theory, optimization, signal processing and communications. The goal of my research is to use techniques of robust control and nonlinear feedback design to develop efficient real-time realizations of some classes of optimal non-linear digital signal processing systems. I am particularly interested in methods and algorithms for enhancing the performance of RF circuits.
