Wall-Mounted Microphone Cabinet

Project Goals

• Prevent theft while preserving accessibility
• Fit multiple microphones and charging station
• Mount securely to wall stud

Build Process

Wooden Cabinet Frame

Cut pine panels and assembled with box joints and wood glue. Shelves were set into dado slots for strength.

Aluminum Door Frame

1x1x⅛ aluminum angle was mitered, seam welded, and fitted to a ⅛” aluminum panel with ventilation holes.

Mounting & Security

Mounted into wall stud with heavy screws; secured with combination lock. Foam inserts cut with a hot knife.

Lessons Learned

• Aluminum MIG welding is unforgiving—thin angles can melt quickly.
• Designing for charging access early saves later rework.
• Foam inserts can be custom-fit with basic hand tools.
