Neuroscientist developing new brain recording technologies. Prior work includes:

     • Hertz Fellow in the Fee Lab at MIT building tiny open-source microscopes for neuroscience (paper here) and brain-computer interfaces for songbirds (PhD thesis here)
     • Fulbright Scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence working on high-throughput scanning electron microscopes for whole-brain mammalian connectomics with Winfried Denk

Other interests include physics, hobbyist science/engineering, high voltage, science demo art, chronic pain/illness, vipassana meditation, marine biology (esp. cephalopods), cooperative living, psychopharmacology, industrial archaeology, wikipedia, and foxes
