Lynn is a coastal city in Essex County, Massachusetts, located ten miles Northeast of Boston, at 42 degrees 28 minutes North latitude by 70 degrees 57 minutes West longitude. The city covers 10.5 square miles, and its elevation is 10 meters above sea level. Lynn is the ninth largest city in Massachusetts, with a population of 89,050, according to the 2000 census. Its population density is about 8,481 people per square mile.
