Lorentz force

The Lorentz force is the force exerted on a charge (an electron or a proton) by an electric or magnetic field.

Here $q$ is the signed charge of the particle with velocity $\mathbf v$, $\mathbf E$ is the electric field and $\mathbf B$ is the magnetic field.
