For this year’s Bayreuth Festival in Germany, Jay Scheib created a version of Richard Wagner’s opera “Parsifal” that is set in an apocalyptic future and employs augmented reality. “I can’t even believe we did this,” Scheib says. “But it’s working.”

PhD student Lisa Ho ’17 studies the barriers limiting women’s participation in the labor force in India. “I want to be an economist whose work is grounded in challenges that come up in people’s everyday lives — especially women’s and children’s,” she says.

“The four years I spent as an undergrad and two years as a grad … it was just a magical experience that changed my life,” says R. Robert Wickham ’93, SM ’95, the new president of the MIT Alumni Association. “But the most important thing that I got out of my experience was learning how to learn.”
