Snickerdoodles Ingredients: 1 cup soft shortening 1 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups sifted flour 2 Tbsp cream of tartar 1 tsp soda (baking soda?) 1/4 tsp salt Coating: 2 Tbsp sugar 2 tsp cinnamon Directions: 1. Mix together the shortening, sugar, and eggs. 2. Sift together all the dry ingredients and combine them with the shortening mixture. 3. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. 4. Roll in the coating mixture. 5. Place 2" apart on an ungreased baking sheet, and bake until lightly brown but still soft (375 F for 8-10 minutes). Makes 4-5 dozen.
