Pictures!
Here are some neat-o pictures that I've been scanning in from time to time.
- My senior year picture from high school
It will be interesting to see before and after MIT pictures of me.
- another picture of me, sitting on a
rock on the beach
- This is my friend Shaima. She graduated
from Denver University and is at the University of Wisconsin now.
- Speedy is a very fast dog. He is a
toy poodle born on Dec. 7, 1985. He got his name from one of the ghosts on the
video game Pac Man. I think speedy was the pink ghost, but I'm not sure. He's
got a little rubber ball here, that he likes to chew on. Too bad it usually
rolls under the furniture and he can't find it!
- Silky is our new german
shepherd. She is a really kind and gentle dog, and really smart, too. I
like taking her to the beach in Del Mar and letting her run around and chase
all her dog friends. It's cool.
- Almost every year, my family would go up to
Lake Tahoe to go skiing for a week. Here's all
the people we went with. I'm the last guy on the right side, and one of my
cousins is in front of me. My sister Yumi is the last person on the right,
in the purple clothes.
- Summer of '92 clubbing in Korea!
We ended up going to some disco place in e-tae-won. Not a good place to be at
night; especially if you can't speak the language!
- My favorite car on the planet is an
'87 Maxima. It rattles a little when going over 100mph, not that I really
drive that fast! I'll put some more pictures of my old car up, and
sooner or later, I'll have some of my new Maxima up here as well. It's
almost identical as my old one, except it's a year younger, it's purple,
and the head rests are different.
- Here's my little sister Kristine
She's only 10 and hooked on anime! I love this kid!
- Here's Kristine giving me a big hug
before I leave.... She's a lot bigger than that, now. I dread the day when
she grows taller than me, and I end up looking up to her!
- I lived in the Cavern for my sophomore
year and the summer after. I'm also living there now, summer of '96. It was a
mess then, and it's a disaster zone now!!
- Me and Perry on the top of some mountain in
New Hampshire. No, that is not a mop on my head. It's just really windy up
there.
- Perry is a small guy. Perry is therefore a light guy. Which means that
a bunch of us can toss Perry around like a
twig with a blanket. Yep, that's a flying Perry. Cute, ain't he?
- My hair got really funky during a
camping trip we went on over the summer. I am definitely not a morning person!
I forgot to cut my hair over the summer of '95, and it grew outta control!
When I came home in July and my mom saw me, the first thing she said wasn't
"hi, how are you"; it was "you're getting that cut NOW!" And we went straight
to a barber.
- Shaima standing on Darius to
hammer in a V-ball net. What teamwork! Darius, by the way, is my genetically
enhanced 6'4" roommate. He is also an EE major.
- My room is one big mess, wouldn't
you say? Note the well designed ceiling closet-thingy on the right. That's
the most engineering I've done in a long time!
- During the summer of '96, Shaima got a job with NASA in Maryland, so I
went down to visit her for a weekend. We went to
Washington D.C. for a day to look
around with some of the other students in Shaima's group.
- Well, I went home for summer like a good little SPaik. What did I do
there? Go fishing, what else! Yep, that's
what I love about southern cal. You can hang out in your shorts on the shore
and go surf fishing!
- My room senior year was a single called 4th
Small Rear. I painted it a special shade of blue which Perry picked out
for me called "Surfin' USA". The room came out pretty good, though the
green molding looks like crap. My desk is the one on the left, and that's
Warren working on the computer.
- During the summer of '97, I went to Korea to visit my relatives and hang
out for a couple of weeks. All of my relatives live in Korea, and since I
hardly get to see them, it was great to just go and talk to them. The last
time I was in Korea was 5 years ago, so it was quite a blast. I went with
my mom, so all the relatives we saw were on my mom's side. Here we are
in a park in Seoul. My uncle is on the left,
and those are my aunts on the right, with my grandma in the middle.
Here are some more of us on the way to a
hot spring bathing area. I can only
recognize a few of these people; a lot of them are my grandpa's sister's
daughters and poeple like that.
