La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove is a great place to go if you're in San Diego. It's a wildlife preserve and is protected from fishing and other stuff, to keep it beautiful for years to come. The Cove itself has a few caves along the coast, and a lot of cliffs and rocks to hang out on.

It's a great place to snorkel and go scuba diving, since you can see a lot of fish and stuff when you go into the water. Scuba would be no good if you couldn't see the fish!

Here's a picture of the cove during the day. The cliffs are really colorful, and there are a lot of caves to check out. This part of the cove is really calm and is a great place to start snorkeling.

Shaima is the one that first took me there. Whenever we're in town at the same time, we try to make at least one trip out there. Here she is on the cliff we usually hang out on. Behind Shaima are several caves that are embedded along the cliffs of the cove. I like to come here at night and sit on the rocks, listening to the waves roll in and crash along the caves. It's something that I dearly miss, being in Boston.

La Jolla is a really up-scale town, and it's nice to go into downtown and window shop for a while. There are also a lot of places to eat there. One of the places which we frequent is the Hard Rock Cafe. Sometimes, it is a little loud, but the atmosphere is way laid back and casual, which is what I like most. Ramin and I also come here to drink coffee and play backgammon once in a while.

One really neat thing they have in downtown La Jolla is a giant water fountain with a huge granite ball on it. The ball is about a yard in diameter and it's really heavy. It sits in the fountain and you can spin it around and play with it, but you can't take it out because it's too heavy! I think it would be neat to push it out of the fountain and roll it down the street. I tried to do that once, but the ball wouldn't move!

One time, Shaima and I got into a little arguement over the salad dressings at the Hard Rock. I had ordered ranch, and she got some green thing. I was teasing her that the green thing looked gross, and she thought the ranch tasted worse. So, we started fighting over the sauces until finally, both of them were mixed together and what resulted tasted and looked gross!
