Hani M. SallumI'm not much of a net-surfer, so there aren't a whole lot of links on this page that go anywhere other than my www dir. A lot of this page is original material. Which reminds me: Disclaimer
I look a great deal like the picture above, which doesn't say much, other than I have a few aspirations of becoming an Anime character. I am a recent Course 2 (Mechanical Engineering) graduate from MIT, which I guess is also not saying much. There are a lot of people out there in Mech E., I'm just another one of them. There's also the course-2-mob, who I spent a lot of my college career with.
Anyway, while I was a student I lived in East Campus on Fifth East, Black Bemis to be specific, land of Fire and Brimstone, and was perfectly happy there, thank you.
Among the few constuctive things I've done outside of classwork (if you can call that constructive) is write stories, comedy and Science Fiction mostly, and every once in a while try to convince myself that I can produce readable poems. However, my friend Alexis does a much better job at writing poetry than I do.
I'm 22 now, but I don't think I'm going to be 23 for another couple of years.
I don't like OK soda.
I also don't like revolving doors. They seem to me to be fundamentally dangerous things, with just way too much rotational inertia. I feel like I'm walking into a piece of farming machinery every time I go through one of them.
I especially don't like flying insects, or anything that has an exoskeleton and a higher proportional strength and speed than I do or has the ability to cause me physical pain. Those guys are right the fuck out. Honey is poor compensation for letting little yellow and black monsters fly wherever they want, regardless of state or national boundaries. They can fly into my house and invade my personal space. The government should do something about this.
I used to be a co-editor of VooDoo magazine, the only intentionally humorous publication on campus, which admittedly I should get working on some submissions again soon, lest I be harrangued (sp?) by Lex. It's a great magazine, everyone should read it and give them money.
I am, among other things, a member of The Cult of S****y P*p, which speaks for itself. We don't get nifty name tags, but that's okay.
I also am part of a role-playing campaign GM'ed by Dan Gruhl.
I have to say that my favorite performer is Leonard Cohen. His music and lyrics are comforting in the fact that there is someone out there who can look past the delusion we all put ourselves through and articulate the way things are like no one else can.
What kind of person am I? Well, even though this is my homepage, I think other people are the best judge of that. I'm kind of self-conscious in some ways, and talking about myself is one of them... at least over the web. Write to me if you really want to know, or get an idea from my writing.
Lastly, I have a piece of advice for everyone:

What a surprise, this page is still being written.
Non-list mail is cool. If you have things to say, mail them to:
