Mostal the Maker, along with Gortal the Grower, created Palquenta, who is both the Earth Goddess, often referred to as Mother Earth, and the world itself. Mostal and Gortal nurtured and formed Palquenta. Mostal made the high mountains, the barren deserts, the fertile plains, and the deep oceans. Later, according to Dwarven history, Mostal shaped the rocks and breathed life into them, and thus brought forth the Dwarves.
Mostal is the god of the Dwarves. All but a few renegade Dwarves are members of Mostal's following. The ways of Mostal are rumoured to be very strict. Little is known of the actual practices, as Dwarves faithful to Mostal rarely wander out of their home mountains.
There is no recorded case of a non-Dwarf ever becoming a full-fledged initiate of Mostal.
