Daga is Orlanth's evil nephew. He is a spectre, a wan and frightening thing without substance to stike or force to scatter.
Orlanth fought Daga and defeated him. Since then, Daga has been imprisoned in a carefully sealed jar kept by Orlanth's bedside. It is said that when people sin and forget the gods, the jar is opened or broken and Daga swims forth to blight the earth and bring people back to a rememberance of their gods.
Daga is depicted as a skeleton, a death-spectre, or as a dying child ravished by malnutrition.
