Experience

Optician Apprentice, MOSAIC Labs of Oceanit; Kihei, HI — Summers 2004 - 2005

Aided scientists in generating optical parts, including machining, grinding and polishing glass. Also used interferometers for surface verification. Use of AutoCAD and Mechanical Desktop, ZEMAX and Zygo MetroPro software, as well as experience designing and fabricating PCB boards.

Intern, Akimeka LLC; Kihei, HI — Summer 2005

Worked with Akimeka's educational outreach "Digital Bus" project, a bus to bring technology to students who can then conduct research in the field. Included instructing students in the uses of various computer technologies, as well as the management and improvement of an island-wide wireless network.

Awards & Volunteer work
In my spare time I am a technical writer and editor for the online computer magazine macteens.com. I also captain my school's Relay for Life team, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. From my school I have received the following awards:
