Getting from the Airport

A taxi to Cambridge from Logan Airport will cost $30 ± $10, depending on exactly where you want to get off. Uber and Lyft will cost less. The trip will take 20 minutes without traffic, but can take longer during rush hour.

The metro is free from the Airport. The 'Silver Line' bus connects the airport to the main train station South Station. Change there for the 'Red Line' train towards Alewife to get to Cambridge. The Kendall and Central stops are closest to MIT. The metro website is: mbta.com

Driving in Boston can be traumatic, and finding parking is frequently a hassle. Thankfully, getting around Boston and Cambridge by metro (and uber) is easy to do. We recommend not getting a rental car.
