Became a Guardsman of the Carolingian Rapier Company in 1989.
Hiatus for grad school during 1991-93.
Held the first Poulet Gauche in December of 1994. There were Poulet Gauche events every year through 1997, including summer appearances at Boredom War. I am particularly proud of this project because I believe that it got a lot of people involved in having fun with authenticity on many levels and started a trend for in-depth period specific events. It was also a good nurturing place for many new people. The web site at http://www.lepg.org badly needs updating, but is still a useful late period resource.
Queen's Guard, reign of Bjorn and Morgan (1996). Wore Byzantine garb to please Her Majesty, went to a majority of the RPs in that reign, and ran the EK messenger service at Pennsic.
Cadet to Don Fergus MacRae, 1996.
A founding member of the Eastern Cavalier Phalanx, a spear unit composed entirely of fencers that fought at Pennsic in 1997.
Squired to Master Kobiyashi Yutaka in 1997.
Carolingian Marshall of Fence, 1995-1998. I stepped down from this position due to a period of protracted illness that lasted several years. The last operation seems to have worked, and I returned to teaching fencing on regular basis in the fall of 2000. I developed the syllabus that we use in our introductory fencing class. I also keep the web site, http://www.latourdulac.com/fencing.
Co-Chronicler of Carolingia (with Eleanor Catlynge), 1996-1998. Together we made many improvements in the Minuscule, including a substantial A & S issue.
