The story gives you most of the instructions for a logic puzzle: Given an 8×8 rectangular grid, you must make a simple, closed loop that visits every square. You are given the locations of every other corner of the loop—there is exactly one corner (whose position you must determine) on the path between the given corners.

But where is the grid? You must put the eight answers in alphabetical order. Note the consecutive initials.

But where are the given corners? They are the “full moons”—the letter O. Each row contains at least one O.

But how do I get an answer? Take the unmarked corners and follow the path around. Although the starting point isn’t crystal clear, there is only one spot that produces a good message: Start at the “I” in MOCKTAIL and head west.

Reading around the path, the werewolf explains: “I'M HIRSUTER.”
