These are the puzzle answers from this section (given here in alphabetical order):

• `ABSOLUTION`
• `MAST`
• `PASTOR`
• `PUNKROCK`
• `REPTILES`
• `RIGHTMOST`
• `STUMBLE`

The “national taxonomy” theme and the name Dexter are intended to clue that you will need to know the National Pokédex numbers for the seven Pokémon used in this metapuzzle.

The seven Pokémon are:

• Charmeleon (5)
• Squirtle (7)
• Raticate (20)
• Krabby (98)
• Duskull (355)
• Rockruff (744)

Next, you will have to figure out which operations are performed on each Pokémon’s number. Thankfully, you are told that all intermediate operations result in a valid number—where valid in this case means an integer from 1 to 806 (the number of Pokémon in existence). The pairings are as follows:

→ ÷6 → ×5 → −24 →
Rockruff (744), resulting in 596 (Galvantula)
→ ×8 → +17 →
Raticate (20), resulting in 177 (Natu)
→ ^4 → −7 →
Charmeleon (5), resulting in 618 (Stunfisk)
→ ÷7 → +1 →
Krabby (98), resulting in 15 (Beedrill)
→ −50 → log2 → ×8 →
Yamask (562), resulting in 72 (Tentacool)
→ ^3 → ÷7 → ×6 →
Squirtle (7), resulting in 294 (Loudred)
→ +29 → ÷3 → +22 →
Duskull (355), resulting in 150 (Mewtwo)

There are seven Pokémon that you end up with. Each one is the same length as the answer that corresponds to the starting Pokémon used. For example, Rockruff is associated with the answer `ABSOLUTION`, and is matched with `GALVANTULA`. There is exactly one letter in common between them.

Rockruff `ABSOLUTION` `GALVANTULA` `T`
Raticate `MAST` `NATU` `A`
Charmeleon `PUNKROCK` `STUNFISK` `K`
Krabby `REPTILES` `BEEDRILL` `E`
Yamask `RIGHTMOST` `TENTACOOL` `O`
Squirtle `STUMBLE` `LOUDRED` `U`
Duskull `PASTOR` `MEWTWO` `T`
Repeating this process for all of the answers gives the battle mechanic `TAKE OUT`.
