WRATH SIN EVENT

by Mark L. Gottlieb and Francis Heaney

Each picture is a Mad magazine-style fold-in, and each folds to a simple object (an arrow, a fish, etc.). At the event, solvers couldn't fold the pictures, though, so they need to do this mentally or use the map to obscure the filler. The captions fold in to reveal the name of the pictured object, but with an extraneous letter. Writing the extra letters into the numbered spaces on their map yields the message THEMATIC BUILDING and an extra X.

At the X'ed location is the Metropolitan Storage Warehouse. But from a position on the map, you can see it as the "Rage Warehouse." On it the phrase "Fire Proof" loses its first letter to become "Ire Proof." This is a "thematic building," as the event's theme is Wrath, and because, as with the fold-ins, it involves obscuring letters to read the appropriate message. The event is completed by taking or drawing a picture of this building from this angle.

The folded images, followed by their extra letters, are:

1 SPOON (I)

2 HEART (T)

3 ARROW (G)

4 COLORADO (I)

5 CLOVER (H)

6 EQUALS (X)

13 MOON (E)

14 MAGNET (D)

15 CLOUD (N)

16 CUP (A)
