First, consider each card's numerical value--suited cards have their face value with aces as 1 and the knight as 12 (as tarot cards run "...ten, page, knight, queen, king"); major arcana are numbered on the cards (e.g. the Wheel of Fortune is 10, the Hermit is 9).
