The 1999 Mystery Hunt began at noon on Friday, January 15 in Lobby 7, where the teams learned that the V.I.L.E. and vile Mistress of Mystery Carmen Sandiego had stolen the coin away from the Acme Detective Agency. At 11:15 pm on Sunday, January 17, the coin was found in Building 39 by Setec Astronomy.
