Writing Exam

The Operations Research Center, in cooperation with the MIT Writing Program, administers a Writing Skills Examination to all incoming students to the interdepartmental program in Operations Research whose native language is English. This exam is to identify weaknesses in students' written English-language skills. Since so much of a student's graduate career depends on effective communication skills - both verbal and written - we feel that early identification of problem areas and appropriate remedial action are of critical importance.

The Writing Department at MIT will be administering the Writing Exam online.

The Examination consists of one essay based on online readings. You will have 72 hours to write the essay. For more information included dates and dealines go here: http://cmsw.mit.edu/graduate-writing-exam/details/.

You must register for the examination here before the deadline: https://grad.imoatweb.mit.edu/. Your MIT ID number will be both your login ID and password. When you login for the first time, you will be prompted to change your password and provide additional information. Results will be available by Registration Day.

If you have any questions about the test, please contact gwe-help@mit.edu.
