Files for rehearsal |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
We are using Noteworthy Software's Noteworthy Composer. There is a free player available, for Microsoft Windows only. There is also a browser plugin which allows the files to be played from Internet Explorer or Netscape, also for Windows only.

There are PDF files for the libretto and each vocal number. The files are currently Piano-Vocal, and not formatted for final consumption. The LPDF files are done with a better music typesetter, and are the preferred ones for printing, if they exist for the number you desire.
The MIDI files come in up to three forms: with Piano accompaniment,
with Orchestra, and "Enhanced". The voice lines are more exposed
and easier to hear with the piano, but the orchestra will give you a
better idea of what to expect when we get to performance time.
These files will work on either the Mac or the PC. The "Enhanced" files have each vocal line on a different MIDI channel, which allows you to mute or solo your own part, if your MIDI player has that feature. The chorus are on channels 11-14, and the soloists are all on channels 1-9, as needed. |

Windows Users: If you use vanBasco's Karaoke Player, you will see the lyrics highlighted as the music plays. You can also mute (silence) any channel, or solo (listen to just that channel). This should make it easier to learn ensemble parts.
Mac Users: If you use QMidi 1.6.1, you will see the lyrics highlighted as the music plays. It's nagware, but it works if you let it count down to 0 and click "Register Later." Click the "MIX" button to get the MIDI mixer, which will allow you to mute or solo individual channels.
