Division III Gymnastics keeps getting better and better. This past weekend, the two Regional Championships were held at Hamline University (Midwest) and Ithaca College (East). The results were an indication that Division III gymnastics is strong and competitive. Wisconsin La Crosse flexed its muscles taking the Midwest by nearly three points, but beneath them, Wisconsin-River Falls and Wisconsin-Stout made their mark by finishing 4th and 5th closer than ever to Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Gustavus Adolphus. Hamline limped to the end of the season having to compete shorthanded because of injuries, but if healthy, it would have been quite a dogfight. The Midwest did not have an exclusive site for results, so this is the link to the story in the first place team Falcon's web page.
In the East, the top five schools were separated by less than the margin of victory from first to second in the Midwest. Ithaca College successfully defended their title on their home turf. Full results of the East Regional are here. Also of note is that 5 different schools were represented in the top six all-arounders in both regions. In the ranking below you'll note that the top two all-arounders do not belong to any of the qualifying teams. It is an exciting time in Division III Gymnastics.
