In 1983 just after the arrival of scholarships in
women's sports the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association was formed to be
the governing body of women's gymnastics at the Division III college level.
Unique in it's design the NCGA is organized and administered by the coaches,
member schools, and athletes that benefit from its programs. The policies of the
NCGA are deeply rooted in the spirit of athletic competition.
Each year the top teams and individuals are invited to compete for the NCGA Championship. Hosted by a member school, the NCGA Championships have become a premier event in collegiate gymnastics. All of the athletes who participate do so without scholarships or monetary reward, they are involved because they love the sport and the joys of competition. The commitment of our coaches, athletes, and member schools is our greatest strength. It is our goal to provide an environment for the non-scholarship gymnast to compete on a national level well into the future.
