Barış Nakiboğlu

I was a graduate student at Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I completed my master's thesis under the supervision of Robert G. Gallager and Moe Z. Win. Lizhong Zheng was my advisor during my doctoral studies. (my CV)

Research Interest

Focus of my research is Information Theory and Communications. In particular I have done research on Variable-length codes, error-and-erasure decoding, unequal error protection and feedback encoding schemes. Currently my main interest is in characterizing and analyzing of operational performance criterion's motivated by contemporary systems/applications. At a less ambitious level i am also interested in large deviations, network science and machine learning.
