MM

mm is a powerful electronic mail system which allows you to send, read, edit
and manage messages quickly and easily.

mm features the CCMD package developed at Columbia. It has extensive internal
help, recognition of abbreviated commands, completion of partly typed
commands by use of the TAB key, and help on partly typed commands by use
of the question-mark key. (Type "help ccmd" for more detail.)

mm can read several mail-file formats. Its default is mbox, the same
format used by ucb "mail". It also can read babyl, used by emacs, and
mtxt, and it can copy messages from one file type to another.

You are now at the TOP-LEVEL, indicated by the prompt "MM>". There are
two other specialized "modes" in MM:

READ MODE	prompt Read> or R>	handles a message you are reading.
SEND MODE prompt Send> or S> handles a message you are sending.

The most commonly used commands at TOP-LEVEL are:
SEND to write and send mail-- takes you to SEND MODE
READ to read incoming mail-- takes you to READ MODE
HEADERS	to see an index of mail you have saved
HELP and ?	to get online help-- see the next paragraph
EXIT or QUIT to leave MM

The HELP command shows help screens about MM commands, topics, and variables.
Type "help help" for information about the HELP command. Type "help ?"
("help", space, question-mark) for a list of all commands and topics for
  which help is available.
