- NASA Homepage includes the following excellent resources:
- Today@NASA has the latest news straight from NASA.
- NASA Multimedia Gallery is a nice place for photos, renderings, and clips.
- NASA TV Listings let you find out when you can catch those live shuttle launches and other events so you can watch them on MIT Cable (which carries NTV) or via satellite.
- NASA Space Science News from the Marshall Space Flight Center is an excellent source of space-related news.
- SpaceViews is an indepedent online magazine about space policy and exploration which also has excellent recent event coverage.
- International Space Station (ISS) official website.
- NASA Image eXchange (NIX) allows you search several online NASA image galleries simultaneously.
- Liftoff! is a somewhat less official site that emphasizes education.
- Warp Drive, When? presents a discussion of where we are and what we want in the field of interstellar travel.
Space Organizations
- The SETI Institute (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) is constantly monitoring the skies for potential communication from intelligent life from other stars.
One particularly fascinating project is SETI@Home, set to launch next year, which will allow anyone to use the idle processing time of their own computers to help analyze data (much like the RC5-breaking project).
- The National Space Society (NSS) is the largest non-profit pro-space organization.
- The Planetary Society is a non-profit organization co-founded by Carl Sagan which focuses on promotion of the exploration of the solar system and the search for extra-terrestrial life.
