In December 2019, M & L did their first I Ching divination in Porter Square Books, holding in mind the turn of the new decade. The two hexagrams were Illumination Blackened in flux to the Long View. The initial generative process for epiphanies came out of these hexagrams settling into M's heart-mind, a synthesis of the year's experiences and gifts directed towards figuring out how to move inexhaustibly through darkness, to inhabit the long view. On January 6, 2020, L & S & M attended the first generous epiphany, clarifying and enriching the generative process while saturating it with magic. The collectively created epiphany beings are ongoing explorations of how to embody wild generosity. We invite anyone wishing to cultivate experiences and practices of wild generosity to iterate, adapt and experiment with this celebration.
Illumination Blackened
When illumination is blackened, move inexhaustible through difficulty and you'll find wild generosity.

Sun and moon sinking all vast illumination below the earth: that is Illumination Blackened. Inside that illumination at the grain of things, outside all tender assent yielding and devoted as a river: let that carry you through the inception-thicket of vast troubles.

When illumination is darkened over, it can still center your purpose at the hinge of things, even if your troubles lie deep within.

Using darkness, the noble-minded abide in illumination itself.

Long View
All origins penetrating everywhere, the long view is inexhaustible in bringing forth wild generosity. Even so, the eighth month inevitably brings calamity.

Mastering the long view, you become as steely as a mountain in cloud and grow wise by brimming gradually out to flood, all opening and delight, yielding and devoted as a river. Steely as a mountain in cloud, you move in at the abiding center of things, move always in concurrence with things.

Vast in penetrating everywhere, you abide at the hinge of things.

Above a lake, earth opening out: that is Long View. Using it, the noble-minded teach tirelessly, boundless in their care for the people.
