For those people who expressed an interest in an interactive SF story - let me provide the following by way of background: Year: 4158 (distant future) Place: Deep in the center of the Milky Way - in a densely populated star cluster. Bckgrnd: Mankind has journeyed for milenia in generation ships to sow itself as far and wide as possible. This is one place where our descendents have taken root. They share this densely populated area with dozens of other sentient life forms - and are considered by many of them to be parasites (because they showed up late in the game. Tech: Nothing which breaks Einstein's theories - no FTL, wormholes - etc. The only reason all these life forms interact in this area is that there are thousands of planets within a dozen years of each other. Locale: A space station in the center of it all called "The Hub". It's a refueling post and most serve all equally by treaty. The Hub is the size of a large moon, and holds millions of aliens at any given time. I think this is the consensus of ideas offered to me by others who wanted to play. I propose we call this story "The Hub". Rules: Same as any other interactive story on WRITERS _ you are responsible for your characters - you should declare any reserved characters (ones only you can change or kill off); treat other writers and story-lines with respect. Interactive stories are really exercises - so it behooves you to keep the characters you create and the story-lines you invent as in-synch with the zone as possible (i.e. - write SF - no fantasy or such). If you have any questions, check out the FAQ. Tink, where is it????? ____________________________________________________________ CJ Vaughan chris.vaughn@ssa.gov Visit the future of WWW entertainment, The Soaps: http://members.tripod.com/~cvaughan/thesoaps.html.
